Every guild member is either an asset or a liability to our Order. Make yourself an asset. We have no ranks or real titles; everybody is expected to do the best they are capable of. Leeches, whiners, and dead weight have no place in KoT.
You must be sponsored to be in KoT. I would suggest getting to know somebody before asking to be sponsored. If you are sponsored, hang around with us and get to know us. If you don't know any of us, nobody is going to sponsor you. If you contact us we can make arrangements to get together. Once you are sponsored, the KoT member sponsoring you is responsible for you, you should listen to them. The KoT member sponsoring you communicates to the rest of the guild what kind of a person you are and if they think you should be a Templar. If any Templar objects to your membership, then you are not in. We don't want any leeches, whiners, or dead weight.
Don't ask to join KoT. Hang out with us, get to know us, let us know you. We will ask you to join if you show you are one of us. If you're not hanging out with us the majority time your hanging with somebody in UO than we probably aren't the guild for you. If Templars rarely see you, or don't ever chat with you, of course they aren't going to accept you, as you're basically a stranger. Having a friend in KoT isn't enough. You need to show by example that you are one of us. ?Stoning' is just part of game mechanics, being one of us is the meaningful act.
You need to get ICQ, UO Automap, and Team Speak. If you don't have any of these programs, get them. No exceptions. When you're on-line you're expected to be logged into Team Speak and UO Automap at all times.
If items are more important to you than your Honor or the thrill of the fight, than KoT is not for you. We fight, we fight a lot. While we do our best to make the other guys die for God, sometimes we die. When you die you must quickly restock and rejoin the fight, hopefully before the battle is over.
You join our Order, not this or that character. We recruit the player, which means all of your characters. If you are on-line you are expected to be available. If somebody in KoT needs help or something is going on you are expected to help. You must be ready for this at all times, no excuses. From the moment you are accepted you are no longer alone. When one of us has a problem/enemy we all do. We are a family. If you are having a problem you are expected to call for help (no Templar shall stand alone). We do not fight to prove our tactics/skills, or to impress people. We fight to win. We do not duel those outside our Order. We don't care about an individual's dueling skill. Victory, comes with the strength of our Order, so when an enemy fights one of us, they fight all of us. One rule you must obey, do not go hunting for PK'ers alone. As mentioned above, our strength is in our numbers and tactics. Always remember to travel in groups if possible.
It is not hard to become a Templar. But quitting and rejoining is almost impossible. Keep in mind stone hopping or simply joining; leaving a week later, then asking to join again is not acceptable. Before you ask to join, be absolutely sure that you have the dedication we require. You must make effort simply to stay in KoT. Before joining you must resign from your current organization if you are currently in one (All characters). Your loyalty must be undivided. Whenever you join, YOU, yourself join KoT not one of your characters. You may NOT have other characters in other guilds and still be considered KoT. We will have a non-combatant guild for your merchants and other characters. All of your characters not on the KoT stone are required to be on the merchants stone, no exceptions.
We have uniforms, you are expected to be wearing them at ALL times. Our uniform is a white base with a secondary red color. While you may wear whatever you like it makes targeting friend and foe a lot easier.
We help train members and provide gear and supplies on occasion. Also, during the primetime of the day/evening, we are usually around to repair your weapons and armor as well as resurrect you should you fall. But being trained and equipped is your responsibility. We enjoy hosting events, which could prove to be fun for you, depending on how much you put into it. You are expected to attend. Also, we could always use extra hands, running the various KoT events. If you'd be interested, contact the guild master and let him know what you'd like to do.
In our Private web pages, KoT has a Private Message Board. All are required to read and encouraged to post on the KoT Private Message Board. In our Private web pages we have pages on operational training and tactics. You are expected to read them.
We also have the KoT Pictures where you can see our military might in action.
Our News page reports of our struggle.
In the epic struggle between Good and Evil someone must raise and bring the
banner of Good to battle, facing the risk of personal extinction. The Knights of
Templar has accepted this burden.
